Green Tea

Green tea is made from the sweetest, newest buds and tips at the top of the plant, and the best varieties are only harvested in the spring.  Unlike black, oolong, and puer teas, green tea is not fermented but instead fired in pans and completely dried while fresh, which produces the green color and distinct vegetable taste.

Buddha's Eyebrow  ORGANIC

Moonlight Gyokuru
Green tea from Japan famed for its unique shading process.  Gyokuro, meaning ‘pearl dew,' is among the finest of Japanese teas.  Our "Moonlight Gyokuro" is made solely from the prized tender buds gathered in the early spring flush. Three weeks prior to plucking, tea bushes are shaded from the sun. The fruits of this hard work are evident in each spectacular cup.

China Beauty Rings
The first and second leaves of new shoots are painstakingly plucked during the end of March and the first two weeks of April. These leaves are allowed to wither, ever so slightly steamed, and then hand rolled. Following the rolling, the best leaves are selected and curled around a ‘beauty stick’, pressed flat and then dried in a special oven to lock-in the flavor and preserve the unique shape.  There are only two villages in the Mount Meng region, which make these teas. These two villages are the holders of the ‘beauty sticks’; sticks that the favorite consort of a 13th century Emperor blessed with her beauty.
