Ever wish there was something safe and fun your little one could get wrapped up in nearby while you enjoyed a cup of tea at Infusion?  I know we have!

Enter our new kids area, complete with a puppet show, stuffed animals, art center and plenty of books. Hang out there with your little ones, or let them play with a friend while you talk with yours! 

Donations are always welcome to our little kids haven. You'll find it tucked beside the couch area, between Infusion and Artistree. Enjoy!

Join us this Wednesday to hear the wonderful voices of Bill Miles and Rachel Leona Kapitan!

Readings will start at 7:00 p.m. An open mic will follow, where you can share about 5 minutes of your words with a warm and friendly audience. I'll have the open mic sign-up sheet out by 6:30, so join us on this first show of Autumn and share in some fantastic talent!

Bill Miles is the current writer-in-residence at the Kerouac House. He has lived and worked as far north as the Arctic Ocean in Alaska and as far south as McMurdo, Antarctica, at jobs ranging from truck driver and bartender to advertising executive and legislator. Along the way, he's been a sky-diver, snowmobile racer, boxer, and pilot--with remarkably little success. He has one published book of short stories, ALASKA UNSALTED. Other fiction has been published in numerous literary journals. His non-fiction has appeared in  the ANCHORAGE DAILY NEWS, the ANCHORAGE TIMES, the CHICAGO TRIBUNE, and the LOS ANGELES TIMES BOOK REVIEW.

Rachel Kapitan is a self-taught writer of the highest calibre, whose literary voice will stun you with its gritty accuracy and power.  She is currently revising her own collection of short stories, and as well as writing a novel.  Actually, two novels, because while productive, she isn't mentally sound.  She also edits on a free-lance basis.  And she loves interesting quotes. So come on out to help celebrate and enjoy some of the talent found in Central Florida!

We were pleased as punch to get this review on Yelp a few weeks ago. We exist to be your Third Place, your home away from home -- the place in town where you know you will be treated consistently well and will feel more at peace when you leave than perhaps you did when you came in. We're like that here.
"The other night, in typical fashion Marty and I were having trouble deciding on a place to eat. I suggested Infusion Tea in College Park, read him the menu and got him all psyched about trying their nut and honey wrap before I checked their hours. As it turned out they close at 8pm and when we were driving down the road that night it was already 7:45pm. Trying to redeem myself, I thought perhaps their Thornton Park location might have later hours so I called the number on the website. Bad news is that the Thornton Park location (inside Urban Think!) closed permanently a month ago - another victim of the times. The good news was that the girl on the phone said cheerfully, "We are having an art opening tonight anyway so if you show up a little after 8pm, I wouldn't turn you away!" "Seriously I said a bit incredulously, you would still serve us?" "Sure" she replied, "We're like that here."

Can I just say how incredibly refreshing and remarkable it was to come across that kind of attitude? Not only did they live up to her promise and let us in when we arrived on their doorstep at 8pm but we were greeted with smiles and made to feel welcome. No one rolled his or her eyes at us or acted put out and impatient as we decided what we wanted (which actually happed to us at an ice cream place while we were on vacation in Sanibel). No one sprayed ammonia cleaner on the tables around us and swept under our feet as we ate our meals (which we've experienced at other places near closing times). No one turned the dining room lights out while we were still finishing our meals (yet another prime example of service we've received elsewhere). The staff at Infusion Tea was helpful, accommodating, and pleasant. They made us feel comfortable - dare I say as if they actually appreciated our business.

Marty was able to have his Nut & Honey wrap after all and it was quite tasty. The generously sized whole-wheat wrap came to the table filled with cashew butter, bananas, local Winter Park honey, strawberries and granola. On the side he was served a little fruit salad which was an unexpected treat. I opted for the hummus and veggie wrap. It came brimming with fresh spinach leaves, red onion, bell pepper, cucumber, organic tomatoes and hummus. On the side, I was served a little salad that among other things included edamame, black beans and garbanzo beans. I really appreciated the fact that they had put enough care and thought into the menu to serve side salads that actually complimented the individual wraps rather than using the more typical generic, one side fits all mentality. We shared a pitcher of iced Pineapple Bliss tea. Marty liked it so much that we bought a tin of it to bring home before we left.

The food at Infusion Tea is fresh, tasty vegetarian fare. Their selection of loose teas is vast and they offer an assortment of baked desserts in addition to gelato. You can also feed your artistic side while you are there by shopping in the attached gallery, which features a variety of local artists and their wares. Most importantly they seem to understand that people have a lot of options when it comes to spending money so they genuinely seem to appreciate the fact that you have chosen to spend some with them. They are like that here."
