Join us each Tuesday for 3 weeks (September 13, 20, 27) from 11:30am – 12:15pm for a free workshop series titled "Parenting from a Strength-Centered Approach." Come for one session, or catch them all. Plan to arrive a few minutes early to order lunch, or feel free to call ahead to 407.999.5255 with your order. The sessions are as follows: Tuesday, September 13: Put on Your Own Oxygen Mask First. Effective parents take care of themselves in order to have the physical & emotional stamina for raising healthy kids. This session will show you how to take time for self-care, so that you make time to be a great parent. Tuesday, September 20: Say What You Want Them To Hear. When families face stressful situations, communication often breaks down. This session introduces “one-up, one-down & one-across” messages, so that you can avoid unnecessary escalation of difficult conversations. Tuesday, September 27: Hold On Loosely. Letting children share the responsibility of developing their characters means allowing them to face the consequences of mistakes AND enjoy the rewards of success. Both are necessary for balanced development. This session will outline ways to build and maintain a strong relational foundation for your child's development and then step back so that your child can recognize his/her own strengths AND opportunities for growth.
